The Moment, and You

Your transparent brown eyes. Beautiful.
The peeled off painting on the wall as your background. Blistered.
The faint smell of steel. Cold and rusty.
Dust, flying aimlessly, visible under bright rays of the sun. Strange.
The birds chirping outside the window. Unidentified.
This black coffee in a blue mug on the table. Getting cold.

Your body. Leaning forward.
Your face. A little drip of sweat. Smiling.
Your trembling fingers. I noticed a ring.

The memories of adventure on the rocky beach.
Flashy images of naked bodies. Lying. Sunbathing.
An unforgettable image of you.

The beads of sweat dripping from your forehead.
The silently mouthed words.

The decision. The shortest prayer I have ever said.
The stillness of the moment.

The silence. You.
