Call me anything, from shallow to overpessimistic, but I failed to grasp what’s there to love and fascinate over Poppy (played by Sally Hawkins) and her quirkiness in Mike Leigh’s Happy Go Lucky.
Yes, I did noticed some of her traits in others that I’m (or was) closed with, which in different situation they might make me laughing all over, but in most times I saw Poppy’s character as aggravative and obnoxious as Sarah Lewis in Forces of Nature.
That’s why it took me over five weeks to finish watching this (not so funny comedy) from DVD.
Now I wonder why I love Amélie Poulain more?
